Baird McNutt
Irish Linen
Baird McNutt has a rich history that dates back to 1912 when the original factory was built equipped with 400 Atherton looms. The factory primarily manufactured piece goods for the handkerchief trade in the USA. It was under the leadership of William James Burgoyne Baird that the company acquired John Hanna’s Shankbridge dyeing and finishing works in 1991.
The company modernized to become the leading linen works in Ireland and developed a relationship with the McNutt family of West Donegal, who brought with them a heritage of authentic Irish fabric design. This relationship developed into the Baird McNutt Irish Linen Brand.
