Even viewed from afar, its quiet elegance was impossible to ignore, revealing itself through subtle details rather than bold gestures.
At the centre of the design is the chrysanthemum, a flower deeply woven into Japanese visual culture and symbolism. Long associated with refinement, longevity, and craftsmanship, it provided the perfect starting point for a bandanna that celebrates restraint and considered design.
Rendered in a palette of deep black and rich merlot pink, the composition balances softness with structure. The contrast is gentle rather than dramatic, allowing the pattern to reveal itself gradually through wear. Like many enduring designs, its appeal lies not in complexity but in clarity.
Though understated at first glance, the bandanna takes on a distinctive character when tied or folded, creating moments of pattern and colour that feel both elegant and effortless. Versatile and easy to wear, it pairs naturally with earthy neutrals, soft pinks, and well-worn indigo.

The One / Two Ears Brand is the brainchild of Jonathan Lukacek who has been obsessing over bandannas for over a decade and husband and wife power duo Ryo and Hiro who make up the denim cult brand Ooe Yofukuten.
The partnership between three individuals is fascinating as they dig into the archives of bandanna designs from the 1890s to early 1900s and truly obsess over each detail and creative decision from the type of cotton, to how the bandannas are woven (two selvedge edges which are a play on the name of the brand). Finally the hand printing of each bandanna makes these the best bandanna's that you can find anywhere and we don't say that lightly.
