One Ear Brand - Champagne Bandana

The One Ear Brand presents Champagne, a thoughtful interpretation of a vintage bandanna whose origins remain delightfully uncertain. While technically speaking it cannot claim true Champagne status—being made in Japan rather than the famed French region—the design itself appears to draw heavily from the visual language of classic French textiles.

As with many historic bandannas, tracing a definitive place of origin is difficult without extensive documentation. Yet the combination of pattern, proportion, and colour suggests a distinctly French sensibility. The beauty of the design lies in its restraint; a carefully arranged field of dots and fine lines that reflects the elegance of late nineteenth and early twentieth-century decorative textiles.

The colour palette emerged from an original vintage example that had faded significantly over time. Hidden within the folds was a small area that appeared untouched by age, revealing a soft champagne beige that became the foundation for this edition. The name followed naturally, inspired both by the gentle hue and the tiny dotted motifs that resemble bubbles suspended in a glass. Rather than sparkle, they seem to glow.
