The W8 is our interpretation of the classic WWII-era Type II jacket, built with a boxy silhouette. Drawing from the original proportions of mid-century denim jackets, we’ve introduced our own subtle adjustments through volume, balance, and construction.

A slightly dropped shoulder and pleated back create a softer shape with ease through the body, while the dropped front hem references the proportions found on traditional western jackets and pairs naturally with our high rise jeans. Finished with tonal arcuate detailing on the chest pockets, designed to reveal itself gradually through time and wear, alongside a dead-stock 1930s vintage cinch-back buckle.

Made using our core 14.5oz rinsed selvedge denim, woven in Italy by Candiani Mills, the fabric is finished with a rinse that softens it from the outset while retaining the character and depth of the indigo, allowing the jacket to continue ageing beautifully with wear. Our “Stay Black” treatment is designed to hold its rich black tone for longer than traditional black denims, slowing the rate of fading while still allowing it to evolve naturally over time.

Cold wash only, or the denim will shrink by 5%
Wash inside out with mild detergent or none at all
They are Sanforized so will shrink in the length up to 1″, but shouldn’t shrink in the width
Raw denim will give up to a 1 1/2″ in the waistband, so the fit should be snug (but not restrictive) to compensate
