At Blackhorse Lane Ateliers, we champion repairs and alterations to extend the life of your garments, ensuring they stay wearable and meaningful. Our free denim repair service reflects our belief in nurturing connections between people and their clothes, emphasising sustainability and thoughtful care.

  • Tailoring innovation to give a curved waistband for the best fit (4.4cm deep)
  • Deep front pleats give a natural relaxation to the hip area (18.5cm long)
  • Belt loops x 7 for ultimate functionality and a real utility style (each 1.7cm wide)
  • 2-piece zip fly with nickel-tooth zip and corozo button to finish
  • Classic trouser slash-front pockets with real functional depth
  • Curved back pockets (16cm H x 13.5cm W)
  • Contrasting white topstitching
  • Care instructions printed on the pocket bag with handwritten size
  • Stress points bar-tacked for extra strength
  • Outer leg tailoring seams are overlocked and pressed open for a flat, non-bulky finish
  • Inside leg and crotch seams are overlocked and topstitched to enhance durability while reducing bulk
  • Fabric and trims:
  • 8.6oz soft and loose denim from Italian mill Berto; one of their iconic Gipsy striped fabrics
  • Dyed using a “pre-reduced” chemical solution halving the amount of chemicals used and finished using ozone technology reducing water for sustainable practices; read more on that in our Understand Our Denims blog
  • 100% cotton from high quality long staple fibre creating a smooth consistent hand
  • Pocket bags and facings are made of 10oz cotton twill from Turkey
  • Sanforized (pre-shrunk) so will not shrink in the width
  • Corozo button from heritage button makers Courtney & Co.
  • Nickel-tooth zip with white zip tape produced by YKK
  • White dual duty thread by Coats (polyester core with cotton outer)
  • Locally screenprinted care label from Fifth Column
  • Brand labels are woven in Wales by GB Labels
  • Recycled sustainable denim swing tags are pressed by our neighbour Baddeley Brothers (compost them)
  • The swing tag twine is hemp, so can be composted or reused
