Uma is a design Satoshi Kaga and One Ear Brand have been developing for several months. The inspiration came from a friend, Stable West, who encouraged us to explore an equestrian themed bandanna.

The main idea was to create a pattern influenced by blue and white ceramics, blending a little bit of East and West. You can see Japanese horse shoes mixed with Western horse shoes throughout the layout.

The darker shade will be a true dark indigo and the lighter areas a Parisian blue, with small touches of ecru to bring balance to the design.

    The One / Two Ears Brand is the brainchild of Jonathan Lukacek who has been obsessing over bandannas for over a decade and husband and wife power duo Ryo and Hiro who make up the denim cult brand Ooe Yofukuten. 

    The partnership between three individuals is fascinating as they dig into the archives of bandanna designs from the 1890s to early 1900s and truly obsess over each detail and creative decision from the type of cotton, to how the bandannas are woven (two selvedge edges which are a play on the name of the brand). Finally the hand printing of each bandanna makes these the best bandanna's that you can find anywhere and we don't say that lightly.

    We ship all orders to the EU that are paid in Euros through our shipping agent ‘taxes and duties paid’. This means that the price you see at checkout will be the total price you pay. Simple as that.
